Discover Free Work at Home Opportunities

,
HOW TO MAKE 3D GRAPHICS :

Earning money from home has become an attractive alternative in earning an income, especially with the numerous opportunities that the Internet provides. This has many advantages, particularly for working parents - not having to commute to work or pay for child care is an extremely big bonus. To be successful, one must decide to do it right away. The key to success is to simply start and grab any work at home opportunities at hand. Here are some opportunities to consider.

Operate a home-based call center

In the past years, many companies have been routing their customer service calls to call centers overseas. But recently, there is a significant growth in the trend of hiring home-based call center operators. Due to the improvements in call-routing technology and the Internet, more and more businesses have discovered that they can outsource sales and customer calls to home-based telephone operators. There are even call centers that provide companies with technology to start up their own call centers from common households. For home-based workers looking for work at home opportunities, the best chance in breaking through this venture is to be hired by call centers that hire people to work out of their homes.

Buy and Sell on the Internet

The potential for home business is virtually limitless. Thanks to eBay, the bustling activity in online buying and selling has provided tremendous opportunities form home-based business people. One can create an online store to market products and earn profits without having to leave home and at a minimal investment. Another way to maximize the potential of online selling is to create one's own product line. Sell crafts and other creative works to web users. Managing payments made to and from online customers wouldn't be a problem. No small thanks to Paypal, money transactions over the web have become accessible to more people. This makes any work at home opportunities easier to accomplish.

Learn Affiliate-marketing

Affiliate-marketing is a business in which a company pays an affiliate for their efforts in bringing traffic or visitors to the company's site. The concept of this type of Internet marketing is one would link and market other people's products and earn through sales generated from that link. Many companies employ an affiliate's site or webpage to place their banner ads or links that leads to the main companies' sites. One may contact a website owner to learn how to make money through this marketing strategy.

Start a Web and Graphics Design Business

The growing number of Internet-based businesses makes web designing a lucrative venture. While this endeavor requires proper training, the web provides resources for people who are interested to start a career in this field. The earning potential in web and graphics design is limitless so investing on it would truly pay off in the long run.

Indeed, one's best opportunities may lie close to home. There are many other potential businesses out there than can be done from home, but any person who is considering work at home opportunities should be aware that as with any business, home-based ventures requires diligence and lots of effort.

How to Communicate Post-Disaster - Appropriate Strategies for Nonprofits

,
HOW TO MAKE 3D GRAPHICS :

What is the place of communications in the wake of disaster? For a nonprofit, the answer lies in the way (if any) that organization is involved in the relief effort. Reading news of, campaigns for and other reactions to the tsunami tragedy has shaped my list of guidelines for appropriate nonprofit communications:

For organizations providing services in the tsunami relief effort: Communicate broadly and clearly about how donations are managed, where they are going and what your organization's relief effort is achieving.

Examples:

Catholic Relief Services responded immediately with life-saving food, medicine, clean water, emergency shelter, basic hygiene and household supplies. This was the first phase of CRS' phased response -- rapid-response relief to save lives, rehabilitation of damaged areas, and development efforts to rebuild communities and livelihoods.[http://www.catholicrelief.org/our_work/where_we_work/overseas/asia/tsunami/index.cfm/]

Oxfam America solicits donations on its homepage, assuring prospective donors that "over 90% of emergency funds go directly to saving and rebuilding the lives of those in the affected areas." Oxfam goes further than Catholic Relief Services, linking its call for giving to six content areas, including these moving accounts:

• A Survivor's Story– From a camp for Sri Lankans, a survivor describes the tsunami and the work that Oxfam is doing to help.

• A Personal Reflection – An Oxfam employee who is Sri Lankan reflects on how the disaster is affecting her family.

• The First Hours– Oxfam staff in Sri Lanka describes the disaster. http://www.oxfamamerica.org/ Make it clear why your organization is well- equipped to help. Be as specific as possible.

Example:

Save The Children, with a field office in the Aceh province of Indonesia, was positioned to provide aid in the region before others could arrive. The agency has since expanded its focus to include children in Sri Lanka.

• Be thoughtful in your use of graphic photos of the disaster.

The press is working for you by publicizing shocking photos of the disaster (not to mention the home videos floating around the Internet). And there's quite a bit of controversy among the press regarding this issue.

Some journalists argue that graphic photos (such as dead children) are too much. Others assert that the seriousness of the disaster necessitate the use of photos to convey the gravity of the situation, especially to the jaded U.S. audience.

For organizations collecting donations for aid efforts:

  • Be proactive and specific in conveying the process for distributing donations and where (and when) the money will be spent.

Example: My local Jewish Community Center (JCC) distributed a flyer soliciting donations for tsunami relief. Working in conjunction with the United Jewish Communities, the JCC explains that "UJC's unique partnership with local and overseas agencies enables us to help build and rebuild communities and ensures that we can provide a wide range of support to people at home and around the world."

I'd like to know more specifics of how donations will be used for disaster relief and wish that they had included a web address where I could find out more.

When I go to the UJC site on my own, I get a clear explanation of why it's soliciting donations (for its overseas aid agency, the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee) which is providing non-sectarian aid in the regions by struck the tsunami. The UJC site also details JDC's allocation of contributions to date. http://www.ujc.org/content_display.html?ArticleID=142336

  • Explain why your organization has chosen to get involved as a pass through for donations. This role, which is probably an unusual one for your organization, has the potential to confuse your established audiences. Help them understand what you are doing, and why. Example: The JCC does a good job of explaining why they are getting involved in donations for relief support -- to filter donations to the UJC.

For other nonprofits continuing with their fundraising and communications pitches:

  • Be sensitive to inappropriate pitches. You may actually go as far as to acknowledge the magnitude of the tsunami disaster, and the contributions your prospective donors are likely to have made. In doing so, you craft the opportunity to talk about your issues and/or service recipients and the fact that their needs persist in the face of this terrible tragedy.

  • Remember that your audiences have been immersed, whether they have wanted to be or not, in tsunami coverage. No story of yours can be more

  • Relate your work to relief work when relevant -- but don't overstate. Make sure you don't overstate a connection between your organization, services or programs and the tsunami disaster. At the same time, acknowledge the tsunami. Pretending that it didn't happen is the worst mistake your organization can make.

  • Continue with your regular campaigns and press releases. Yep, many journalists are busy with tsunami coverage, even as it relates to nonprofits. But there's only so much coverage related to this topic. If you have a timely pitch, make it.

Automotive GPS Systems - Tips For Selecting the Best One

,
HOW TO MAKE 3D GRAPHICS :

More than likely there has been a time when you slid in your car and suddenly wondered if you knew how to get where you were going. Well, today with the great automotive GPS systems, you don't have to worry about this any more. With automotive systems, you can easily get to any destination you may need to go for. There are a variety of excellent GPS systems available today - so how do you pick the best one? Well, here are some top tips that will help you pick out the system that is best for you.

Tip #1 - Figure Out How Often You Need to Use It - First of all, when looking for the best GPS device, figure out how often you are going to need to use it. If you aren't going to need it very often, consider one of the inexpensive systems available. Many are very small and plug in to the cigarette lighter in the car. However, on the other hand, if you need to use it often, you'll want one of the better GPS systems that is user friendly.

Tip #2 - Consider Your Car's Layout - When trying to choose automotive GPS systems, consider your car's layout. Many systems have monitors that displays directions and maps on them. Usually the monitors are placed in the dashboard or on an attachable pedestal from the dash. You'll find in some vehicles, that certain GPS systems can block important vents for air or make it difficult for a person in the passenger seat. So, you want a system that works with the layout of your car.

Tip #3 - Look for Multiple Ways to Get Where You're Going - Choose systems that allow you to use multiple ways to get where you are going. Many automotive GPS systems allow you to get directions by an address back, an address you type in, a location you select on a map, or even by the nearest intersection.

Tip #4 - Ensure You Get Vocal and Graphic Directions - Having both vocal and graphic directions in automotive systems is definitely a wonderful idea. When choosing a system, this is important. It allows you to see where you will be going, but the benefit of the vocal directions is that you don't have to take your concentration off the road to get the directions you need.

Tip #5 - Find Automotive GPS Systems with Great Features - If you're shopping for a unit, make sure that you find a system with great features. Consider looking for features like Bluetooth, 3D maps, real time updates, or even data on points of interest.

Tip #6 - Keep the Installation Time in Mind - Last of all, if you're choosing automotive GPS systems, you should keep the installation time in mind. This is especially important if you are on a very tight budget. The longer a GPS systems take to install, the more it will cost. So, keep this in mind.

How to Make a Monthly Income With Website Niches - Step by Step

,
HOW TO MAKE 3D GRAPHICS :

This article covers how to make money with website niches. Through years of practice I have discovered that a "Golden" niche meets a very specific set of attributes.

I use these attributes as a screening mechanism for separating the good niches from the duds. There are seven core components of a properly constructed website niches. These include graphics, hosting, domains, articles, product, silent sales machine(autoresponder) and sales letter.

It's important that your domain name meets a certain set of criteria. Namely, you want to make sure that the topic of your site is spelled out in the domain name (this is also known as the 'primary keyword).

For instance, if you have a site on rose gardening, you wouldn't want your domain to be "rosegardeningguruman.Com" or something like that.

A more effective domain would be something like "RoseGardeningAdvice.Com." "Rose Gardening" in this case would be the primary keyword.

Your on-site articles play a big role in getting free organic search engine traffic to your site. But, those articles need to be targeting the right keywords. I use the MoneyWords Matrix keyword technique to uncover dozens of high-value keywords. Then I use those keywords to get the articles created.

To save time and speed up production, it's a good idea to outsource your article creation. I use Craigslist Philippines for article and product creation. There are cheap but high quality freelancers there.

To maximize the effectiveness of the website niches I build a list. Building a list requires that you offer your website visitors an incentive of some kind (a reason to hand over their name and email address). Common incentives include a free report, free video, and free audio.

Nothing compares to having a well-crafted email mini-course. A mini-course is simply a 10-15 part email series that educates subscribers on your chosen niche topic. So, when a visitor opts in to your website, they'll begin receiving the mini-course in their email inbox - 1 lesson per day.

Your mini-course does 2 important things simultaneously: It builds a relationship with your subscribers, and sells your product.

As I said earlier articles form the backbone of my website niches traffic generation system. The formula is: money keywords + strategic article marketing + Clickbank affiliate program = free traffic for life.

Online Gaming In Your Face?

,
HOW TO MAKE 3D GRAPHICS :

Whether it is on the street or online, one cannot escape the force that has become the state of Internet gambling. You cannot hide from it because it is crossing international borders as easily as George W. Bush's 'war on terrorism' helped invade Iraq. Online casino gambling and playing poker online has never been as easy and simple, and you become awestruck by the amount of variety and diversity you have to choose from when picking the right casino to play at.

This leads one to question whether online casino gambling is really under the radar, as some say it is, when all you see when you connect to your ISP is a banner advertisement for the latest "bonus match" or "new member promotion" that is featured quite prominently on search engines like, Google, MSN and Yahoo. One starts to question the credibility of news websites and newspapers too when you're skimming the headlines and you land on a page full of competitions and surveys that are being conducted by casino operators. A good example of this bombardment of 'casino media', which is what I like to call it, is the news24.com website.

Among the bevy of headlines and other sections are casino adverts by Piggs Peak and Silver Sands, which are casinos available to South African gamblers and gamblers in surrounding countries. They take over the page and invade your monitor like insurance adverts and other consumer-driven products because of their delightful themes and colourful graphics. There is no limit to the promotional and marketing tactics that online casinos will use to get their message out there, and this can be to their advantage and disadvantage.

It is by no means a moral reflection of the online casino industry and neither is it a mirror image of our society, but an enlightenment of what our society has become. Media pervasiveness has never been as real as it is now in the 'millennium years'. We need to take a good look at the media out there and realise that companies, casinos and the like are only trying to use the tools that have been offered by a society bent on getting a message out there, and one needs to take the consumption of all kinds of media and look at it in context of what it is - media.

The Internet allows companies to do what they will and one could push the boundaries when it comes to design and graphics on the Net, but when you enter the marketing of the real world, it becomes a whole other ball game. You have to be ware of legislation and social responsibility as a company, and one has to start thinking in the box as opposed to out of it.

This begins to limit one's options as to where to advertise, when to advertise and how to advertise. Online casinos have therefore had to look at new and innovative ways to grab new audiences and to sustain their existing players' interest. The perfect opportunity arose from the travel industry's "cruise ships", and now in collaboration with an even more well-established industry, online casinos and poker rooms are using the tournaments and luxury cruise ships as a means to get people playing more.

A player's incentive to playing and winning online is now added to the opportunity of gaining access to exclusive tournaments that are held on luxury cruise liners, and which offers bigger better prize pools that one can feel and touch. In other words online gaming now gives players a real, live and interactive feel for playing online and the better you are at playing, the more real the prize pool becomes. In other words, online casinos are making it more real for people to play online because they not only offer an experience but a pleasing memory that is sure to last forever.

So you see if you think about it a little more, you'll begin to realise that it's not online casinos that are the problem but a society that allows us to tune out what's really in front of us, which is all media really. This is surely something to think about because media can be pervasive and this is worrisome, and is one of the areas that need our constant attention. If you had to tune in to what you see, you'll realise that online gambling is like any other industry out there, they all need to send out messages to give them the assurance that makes them feel like they're needed and wanted, and that they too are a part of society too.

What's the Appeal to Online Games?

,
HOW TO MAKE 3D GRAPHICS :

Online games have become extremely popular over the past several years and they are expected to continue gaining in popularity. Home computers are found in more and more homes across the world with Internet connections, many of which offer high speed Internet service. Everyone with an Internet connection has access to websites that offer both paid subscription and free online games. Once you have everything set up, you'll be greeted with a huge market targeted specifically for online gamers.

Players will need to install Shockwave or Java in order to download online games onto the computer or play Internet browser games. These two programs are the tools responsible for making it possible for developers to create these games and make them available for the public. It doesn't cost as much as it would have a few years ago to design and make these games available to the public. Therefore, more independent companies can also get in on some of the action.

The storylines to these online games along with the gameplay and graphics continue to improve every year and this attracts even more people to both the free and paid online games sites. Another feature that meets the demand of the public and makes online games even more popular is the fact that you can play the game as soon as it finishes downloading. If you choose to play a browser based game, then you don't even have to wait for a download.

Another main attraction that draws players to these online games is the fact that you can play with others who enjoy playing video games as much as you do. MMORPG allow you to interact with other gamers located all over the world. It gives you a chance to create your very own unique identity in the digital world. You can also compete against some of the best players in the world to see just how good you truly are at your favorite game.

MMORPGs are even more popular today than the successful online fighting games that once ruled the Internet. They offer so much versatile and entertainment that anyone from the young to the elderly can find something they enjoy playing. With so many online games to choose from, the costs of these games have decreased dramatically and many of them offer limited play for free.

The price of computers continues to drop and new technology increases the speed at which they can run and process programs. Graphics are now so real it's easy to get lost in all the action and speed hours playing your favorite games. No wonder online games are so popular and continue to get attention.

Fast Web Hosting - How Fast Can it Get?

,
HOW TO MAKE 3D GRAPHICS :

If you're looking for fast web hosting, just about any web hosting service available can set you up as fast as can be. But as far as the work it requires, depending on the size of your website - or websites - the speed it takes to completely host them all and be navigable by visitors can vary. Of course, domain name registry and configuring DNS settings all generally take the same amount of time for whichever hosting service you use. This can usually take from 24 to 48 hours before your preferred domain name can be attached to your website and point to its location on the internet.

With the work it then takes for you to build your websites or to transfer existing websites from one server over to another, fast web hosting can largely depend on how fast you can work. There are databases to take care of, php scripts to write or import, files upon files to create and/or move, images to configure and upload, and any number of other tasks which need to be done to set up your sites to be hosted.

Much of this can me more speedily taken care of through the use of what is known as CPanel, which is a graphical, web-based, web hosting control panel designed specifically to greatly simplify the administration of websites. Many hosting companies who offer "fast web hosting" services offer the use of CPanel to provide a speedy experience of web developing on their servers. Through the use of this control panel software tool, things can be managed much more quickly, such as crontab tasks, the management of PGP keys, mailing lists, e-mail and FTP accounts, etc. - all done with this web-based tool. This and other fast tools offered by most hosting companies can make the task of setting up your websites a breeze.

It may be, however, that even with such fast service in web hosting and the use of CPanel and other tools to make things speed along, you might still not have the time to complete the work that you need in order to have your websites up and running in the desired amount of time. But many web hosting service providers also offer to do much of this work for you, professionally, and in perhaps much faster time than you can get it all done by yourself. Offering this kind of fast service, hosting providers can get you up and running in virtually no time.

Visualize PC Performance (and Do Something About It) With PC Health Advisor

,
HOW TO MAKE 3D GRAPHICS :

A new PC performance product, PC Health Advisor from ParetoLogic Software, has arrived, bringing with it a collection of powerful tools that allow you to visualize and optimize performance. While PC Health Advisor offers several categories of tools including disk management tools and an option to detect and automatically repair errors, its Windows Optimization tab is particularly useful to computer users who want an easy way to improve their computers' performance. Located in the Optimize tab, you will find four large buttons labeled Process Manager, Startup Manager, Browser Object Manager, and Optimize Windows. Each of these tools is fully functional in the free demo version of the product. Use the tools one-at-a-time to improve your computer's performance.

Start with PC Health Advisor's Process Manager. This tool contains two tabs: Processes and Performance. If you click the Performance tab, you'll see a visual representation of: CPU Usage, Memory Usage, and PageFile Usage. These graphs are displayed in real time, allowing you to see performance spikes as they occur. Next, click the Processes tab where you will see a list of all currently running processes along with a set of easy-to-interpret icons that label each process as either: system process, user installed, other, unwanted, or malware. When you highlight any process, you'll see even more details about it as well as another real time graphic detailing its impact on your PC's performance.

For example, you may see a process named acroRD32.exe and wonder what that is and whether you need it to be running. When you highlight the process, you'll then see that this is an Adobe Systems file which may then trigger an "Oh, that's Adobe Reader" reaction from you. When you see that the process has a minimal effect on your computer's performance you might opt to leave it alone. On the other hand, this computer health tool may reveal unwanted running processes. When you click on one of these and see that it is gobbling up your computer's resources, you can then make a better informed decision about allowing this program to run or not. If PC Health Advisor indicates that a program is using excessive resources or is either unwanted or potentially malicious, you can stop the process immediately by clicking the End Process button. From there, you can start researching the process to learn more about it and how to remove it permanently. An option, labeled Optimize All, is available with the registered version of PC Health Advisor. With this option enabled, you can click the button and PC Health Advisor will automatically remove all unwanted processes.

PC Health Advisor's other optimization tools provide you with similar easy-to-use performance enhancements. For example, the Startup Manager button provides you with a selectable list of startup items that you can easily select or deselect; the Browser Object Manager lists browser helper objects that you can enable or disable; and the Optimize Windows button offers a series of performance choices that you can allow or disallow.

How to Know If You Have an Efficient Logo

,
HOW TO MAKE 3D GRAPHICS :

This article is geared towards business owners that have written a business plan or in the process of writing a business plan for their upcoming venture. Maybe they have a logo, or maybe they don't. Either way, they should know what makes an efficient logo, so here I list a couple of the things that will help you find out if your logo is indeed, an efficient one.

Research and planning or "development stages"

Some may think that businesses can run without plans and you know what, so can logos. But the number one reason why they both fail is lack of planning. Hence, if you have a logo that was not born out of research and refining, you cannot have an efficient logo. The process of developing truly efficient logos needs the information gathered during marketing research, like the audience you wish to communicate to, or the message you wish to communicate. To your audience, your logo will be relevant, or so you hope J and you need to really know who they are and what they relate to, before you can truly communicate with an audience via a logo. So then, truly efficient logos are fed by information and planning, not just instinct and graphic execution.

Additionally, with the age of desktop publishing and proliferation of media authoring and editing software, anybody that can slap some image with a business name and call that a logo. But if this is all the research and planning that went into your marketing goals and more specifically, your logo, you probably have an inefficient. Even more tragic is you could be giving the wrong message with your logo! The solution to this is:

1) If you already have a business plan, pay close attention to the marketing section and build your logo and brand identity materials taking all marketing research, strategies and goals into account,

or

2) Learn more about logo research and development, as logos require a more visual type of research than what is called for on the marketing section of a business plan.

Ease of use in all media, and versatility

There are indeed technical requirements logos must meet in order to properly function in all media (anything from a favicon to an embroidered polo.) Additionally, they require a kind of simplicity that would allow your logo to look good very small or very big. As per the technical requirements, Word documents and even "pixel" images will not meet all (if any) of the technical requirements needed to display your logo in different formats. Although some providers may accept very high-resolution pixel image files such as .tiff, and .jpg, the vector version of your logo is always preferred. The true litmus test here is this: if you own a vectorized version of your logo (an Illustrator or Freehand .eps file, for instance) and it can be displayed in something as big as the side of a two story building, then you most likely have a winner!

As per the aesthetic aspect of this, your logo needs to look good on the side of that building, not all jagged and "pixelated." So, if your logo did come out from doing lots of research and refining, but you only have a .jpg because: a) you designed it yourself in Word, PowerPoint or even Photoshop, or b) your designer only gave you a .jpg. See if you can get a vector .eps from your designer. If he/she cannot give you a vector .eps then this is not a true designer. Perhaps you can get the designer to vectorize your logo for free if you want to keep the relationship. Either way, your logo should truly be a reflection of your business' marketing goals, and be vectorized to qualify as an efficient logo.

And if you wonder about the credibility of all the products and services being sold over the internet as custom logo design, ask your prospect logo designer if they will give you more than one type of file. If they don't list .eps as one of them, be weary! A designer that does not deliver proper files may end up costing you money down the line. If providers have to recreate or modify your logo file to make it work in their media authoring devices, your logo could very well be a money pit. After your logo has been created, it should make you money, not cost you money.

What Does The Elliott Wave Principle Tell Us About The Deflation Economy And Greater Depression?

,
HOW TO MAKE 3D GRAPHICS :

In the 1930's, Ralph Nelson Elliott found that the stock market prices moved in recognizable patterns. These patterns, or waves had five variations and were repetitive in form, but not always in time or amplitude. He described how the Elliott Waves link together to form the same patterns as the next larger size (fractal), and so on and so on. This structured progression phenomenon is The Elliott Wave Principle. It can be used to predict both market direction and market timing according to it's proponents. In 1960, A. J. Frost became a partner of the late Hamilton Bolton, who introduced him to the Elliott Wave principle. After Bolton's death in 1967, Frost wrote two Elliott Wave Supplements. In 1977 he delivered a speech on Elliott and met Mr. Prechter. Robert Prechter co-authored with A. J. Frost C.F.A., to write the book, ELLIOTT WAVE PRINCIPLE - KEY TO MARKET BEHAVIOR in 1978.

The Elliott Wave Principle can be a good forecasting tool as it is a detailed map of how markets behave from looking back and then extrapolating what direction they may go in the future at degrees of scale. Since the stock market in total is such a big compilation of human work, production and endeavor; it follows nicely along the wave principle patterns. Prechter has found that markets even in very short time periods can go through an Elliot Wave sequence.

If the market is in a major long term trend, the Elliott Wave is a motive or impulse of five distinct price movements leading to a climax or blow off top or bottoming crash with periods of smaller three wave A-B-C retracing part of the 5 wave impulse up. In bear markets the Elliott Wave is a corrective wave or Zigzag of three large A-B-C price movements down to a bottom or crash with periods of smaller five wave retracings pointing down. This is what the wave structure is doing right now! According to Robert Prechter, this proves we are in a secular long term bear market.

Amazingly, that is exactly what is going on right now. The market is in retreat and the waves down have been in fives since the year 2000 top! It is undeniable evidence we are in a secular bear market. This bear market's large degree of scale is evidence we are in the Elliot Wave Principle as a Grand Super Cycle decline three times as large and long as the 1930's great depression. So, we are ten years into the Greater Depression. It is due to bottom out in 2016-2018. In fact, the stock indexes are showing a 10 year head and shoulders topping formation with a bearish down trending neckline. A neckline is the line drawn on the graph connecting bottoms of intermediate moves.

The Elliott Wave A complete cycle is eight waves made up of two distinct phases.

1. The five-wave motive phase (also called a "five"), whose sub-waves are numbers.
2. The three-wave corrective phase (also called a "three"), whose sub-waves are denoted by letters. These waves can compound into patterns of one degree larger but the form is constant. Then the next eight-waves (5 impulsive and then 3 reactionary) compound into patterns one degree larger, and so on. Building bigger and bigger(fractal). Regardless of degree, the form is constant.

R. N. Elliott had three consistent Elliot Wave Principle rules of the five-wave form.

1. Wave 2 never moves beyond the start of wave 1.
2. Wave 3 is never the shortest wave.
3. Wave 4 never enters the price territory of wave

1. FRACTICALITY, FIVES AND FIBONACCI

Fibonacci (c. 1170-c. 1250) was an Italian mathematician who's number sequence is the sum of the previous two numbers starting with 0 and 1. 0, 1, 1, 3, 5, 8, 13 and so on. Higher up in this sequence he closer of two consecutive "Fibonacci numbers" divided by each other will approach the golden ratio of.618: 1 - Phi.

When analysts talk about the.618 retrace level they are referring to Elliott Wave and Fibonacci number fractal studies and points where markets often make a turn. Important Elliott Wave Fibonacci turning points are.382 -.50 -.618(phi also known as the golden ration, golden number, golden mean or golden sextant) - 1.382 - 1.50 - 1.682. Not enough attribution is given to these important numbers although awareness is growing in the investment and financial world. Especially, since this is where markets seem make a turn every time.

Robert Prechter has found many instances of Fibonacci and fractals along with the Elliot Wave Principle in nature and human relationships including:

1. Just about anything that data can be collected and shown in graphic form will show Elliott Waves.
2. Spirals in seeds, hurricanes, sheep horns, snail shells the mathematics is Fibonacci number related..
3. Branches in trees, arteries, brain and lung construction. Phi allows more efficiency and robustness, according to Robert Prechter.

4 Stock, bond & commodity markets in short and long time frames Since man is a herd animal and the stock market is a compilation of the work and industry of a mankind in total, the charts of these financial instruments tend to show Elliott Wave Principles, fractals and Fibonacci in looking back and predicting future retracing and support levels.

5. 5 pointed star or a spot on a line all math involved is Fibonacci.

6. Social man - self organizing progress ruled by Fibonacci mathematics because it allows the greatest efficiency and robustness. Precter has tracked use of words such as deflation and found they fit the 5 wave impulse and 3 wave retracement Elliott parameters and tend to turn at Fibonacci points.

7. Arboration. Not just the branching angles larger to smaller as one travels out from the plants base, but how stems and leaves both rotate around the base of the stem or branch and spread to optimize the sunlight they receive.

8. Fractals - think broccoli - each small spear is a mirror image of the large bunch. Think tree -a branch is image of whole. Think coastline - edge of tide pool looks same as the whole coastline if looking down from airplane. 8. Evidence clear down to subatomic particle behavior. Particles bouncing off walls of container look like coiled ferns.

9. The limbic system in the brain relates to emotional feelings and guides behavior required for self-preservation and the preservation of the species. If early man did not get along with the clan he was thrown out of the cave to freeze to death or was stoned to death. Likewise, if he did not conform with and follow his clan he was likely to get eaten by wild animals, get kicked out of the cave or get left behind to starve to death.

So, now mankind invests the same way. Buying more and more as prices rise (evidence is the recent real estate top) and conversely being afraid to buy at price low points. Robert Prechter has also, more recently, found evidence in markets and in nature of Elliott Wave Principle, Fibonacci and fractals all working together. His new study of Socionomics combines sociology with economics and Elliott Wave, Fibonacci and fractals all together. Socionomics says society's mood will swing form optimism to pessimism and then back again. We are in the pessimism phase now. The Greater Depression is already here. It started in 2000 with the dot com stock blow off top. Elliott Wave theory says this has been a 10 year topping formation and that this cycle may not hit bottom until 2016.

Business Cards From Hell

,
HOW TO MAKE 3D GRAPHICS :

I went to a business networking meeting recently and met some new people as well as mingled with existing acquaintances.  Networking events and business card exchanges, if done properly, are a great way to begin the prospecting and referral part of your marketing efforts.

But what always surprises me is the often useless and just plain horrible use of business cards by business owners themselves.

I consider business cards to be Networking 101.  They are the basic, entry level requirement for starting your relationship with prospects and clients.  They are the toe of the foot in the door for making a first impression about you and your business.  Yet I'm constantly surprised at how all over the map business cards are in terms of quality or the basic information they should provide.

Case in point, I actually got a card from a guy at a recent event for a display and graphics company.  Later, when I went to follow up, thinking we might have some synergies for doing business together, I looked at the card and lo and behold, there's no name on the card!  Nothing.  Nada.  Zip.  Everything but a name!  Should I just call the company and ask for "the guy who I met last night?" I don't think so.  Into the circular file with that one.  Opportunity lost.

So, to that end, here are my VERY basic tips for having an effective business card:

  1. Yes,  put your name on the card;  We might have had a memorable conversation but I'm really bad with names.  Help a guy out.
  2. Complete mailing address;  why would you not have this? Are you ashamed that you work from home (you shouldn't be);  are you ducking the Feds?  What?!
  3. Put your phone number that most increases the likelihood of you being reached.  If that's your cell phone, fine.  Whatever.  If you're going to networking meetings of any kind and meeting people and handing out your cards, guess what?  YOU'RE IN SALES!  You WANT people to be able to EASILY get in touch with you.  At least you should.  Otherwise, stay home!
  4. Make the card easy to read.  Sounds like common sense, but really tiny type in bizarro fonts with busy backgrounds is not creative --- it's just annoying.
  5. No strange shapes and sizes, cards made out of crepe paper or that are triangular or shaped like a giraffe just won't fit into my wallet, card scanner or business card holder.  Please keep them standard sizes.  I want to remember you, the person, not how odd your card was.
  6. Invest the .99 to have the words "Vista Print" removed from the back of your free cards.  If you're not willing to invest at least that much in your own business, why should someone else?

How to Save Electricity With Your Home Appliances

,
HOW TO MAKE 3D GRAPHICS :

We use home appliances every day. They help us a lot to lighten our work both in the house and in work. How can we use them effectively while using every bit of electricity worthy of its use, no power wasted. With that in mind, we not only save money in our pockets but helping save power, as we all aware that there a continuous energy crisis. We should take our part for this, we can do something and we can start it at home.

Let us examine some of the common appliances and devices which are common to a usual household.

  1. Television: I think huge percentage of people own a television. When not in use, totally unplug it from the AC or wall outlet. Modern televisions are already remote-controlled. When not in use, these television sets still draw minimal current so it can power its digital controllers. If this is not taken care of, this will add up significantly its power consumption. Remember, all big things start small. Especially if you have large screen television sets or the conventional CRT based. If you have some budget that you can spare or you maybe planning to buy a new one, consider changing your CRT-based television sets with the newer and less power consuming new LCD and LED TV.
  2. Refrigerator: One of the indispensable appliances at home. It preserves food and provides freshness to the fruits and vegetables. Sure it can cool down, but if before putting hot food for storage, let it cool down to room temperature, this can save some extra power, likewise if you have frozen foods, take them out sometime before mealtime so it can defrost itself, saving you power on oven for reheating. If you are planning to buy new refrigerator, look for one which has a good EFR (Energy Efficiency Ratio). Usually governments mandate manufacturers at present to manufacture appliances which are energy saving compliant.
  3. Air Conditioner: My favourite appliance when I am at home and while the temperature outside is hot. Initially, you can set it to high settings so it can cool down the room quickly and set it to medium or low when temperature inside drops to an acceptable level. Make sure you clean the filter regularly and check if the thermostat is working properly so that the compressor can turn itself off when it reaches the set temperature. Likewise, the same with the refrigerator, if you are planning to buy new one, choose the one with good EFR. By the way, this EFR thing is posted on the specifications of the unit.
  4. Light bulbs: Most houses nowadays use CFL (Compact Florescent Light) and that is a good choice of lighting fixture. These are low power consuming as compare to the traditional incandescent bulbs, last longer too and much brighter.
  5. Computer: Computers are intelligent piece of device, only if the user uses it intelligently. If you have older computer, consider an upgrade. Modern computer processors like that of Intel Core2Duo series and AMD Athlon X2 series, supports smart and automatic power saving. Also, consider using an LCD or an LED monitor, not only space wise monitors this also have low power consumption. A typical 17 inches LCD or LED monitor can consume 25 watts to 40 watts compare to a 17 inches CRT monitors which typically consume 80 Watts and up, depending on how detailed is the graphics displayed. If you are the kind of person who has work a lot and have plenty of windows open at the same time, turning off your computer more often can take time to open your applications, hibernate it instead.
  6. Washing Machines: When using the washing machine, make sure you have a bunch of clothes for washing. It is good idea to wash them in this manner, this way you are unconsciously saving electricity.

These some of the recommended uses for these appliances. Also read the manufacturer's user guide, it may show you some more advanced tips for saving electricity. Remember the things above you should do above and in the long run you may not aware that you are already saving not just power but money as well. Some of the tips above maybe hard to do the first time, but constant persistent will make it all automatic to you. Print and post reminders for these tips on sections of your house Whatever one always repeat becomes a habit.

Selection Ideas for Your Fathead Wall Decal

,
HOW TO MAKE 3D GRAPHICS :

Fatheads and sport fans are currently becoming inseparable twins. People love their favorite teams and sport icons so much that they are willing to do anything to show it. Luckily, Fathead came up with the idea of creating sport-inspired wall graphics. The fathead wall decal is a great example of what is currently trendy in the marketplace. These items mostly focus on big teams around the country that play various sports.

The most prevalent types are NFL and MLB decals and they are many and different. In order to make a choice, you should know the teams that you like. These products do not only excite young people, but also the old. Sports unite people of all ages and even enhance mutual relations among countries. That said you could give away a wall decal today without worrying about the age of a person. Old and young gift receivers would appreciate the items in a similar way.

Besides, you can very easily find items for grownups and children grouped separately. In fact, you may be best offering a wall graphic design to your father or any man in your life. Men love sports and that is almost a fact. Therefore, if you are looking for a gift to give a man in your life, now you know what to do. Usually, a fathead wall decal features teams' logo, name, initials, a player, jersey number and so on. Helmet design is common and it looks so real clinging onto the wall surface.

You may not worry about getting your walls dirty or unattractive. These appliqués have special adhesive that cannot cause ugly marks or residuals when removed. In addition, they are a hundred percent removable as well as reusable. In short, you can attach the to the wall, remove them after a few months of them being stuck there and then re-install them. You probably wonder if they could rip when removing. This is not possible because they are strong, durable and rip-resistant. They are usually made of vinyl, a strong material boasting many other uses.

Additionally, they are fade resistant regardless of how long you use them. One detail you should know is that you do not always get official items. It is very easy to stumble upon products that lack official team logo. If you really need to get what you deserve, then focus on the buying process seriously. Ensure that a dealer store is genuine, in the sense that it has a license to trade certain fathead decals for wall décor.

Secondly, focus on the price range by comparing what every other vendor is offering. If you buy right way, you may deny yourself a chance to find cheaper deals for official products. Some vendors are aware that some of you do not do comparison-shopping, and they easily get away with a slight overpricing. Take your time to look for what you think would help improve the design of your walls. Get a fathead wall decal that you can use for quite sometime without feeling pressure to change it.

COD: Black Ops Running Slow! How To Fix COD: Black Ops Slow Speed Problems On Your PC Quickly

,
HOW TO MAKE 3D GRAPHICS :

COD: Black Ops has only just been released, but despite being a highly anticipated and popular game, it's continually causing a huge number of problems on people's computers, including running slowly. If you have this game running slowly on your system, you need to be able to repair the problems that are leading to its slow speed - a process that can be achieved by using the steps outlined on this page.

Why COD Black Ops May Run Slow

The reason why this game runs slow is typically because of how your computer cannot process its files correctly. Not many people know this, but this game is so advanced that it requires a huge number of important settings, files, options and Windows features to run... and if any of them are not functioning correctly, then you'll likely see a decrease in this game's performance. The good news is that you can make it run much faster if you are able to resolve any problems which are leading the game to run slowly.

The common reasons why this game will run slower include:

  • COD Black Ops is not installed correctly
  • Your computer's performance is not able to run quickly enough for the game
  • Your PC has some errors with its settings

How To Make COD Black Ops Run Faster

Although there are numerous ways to make this program run faster, the main steps are to basically ensure that your computer can process all the game files correctly, and then is able to process its settings. The first thing you should do is to stop any other programs from running on your PC. This is important, as most people will actually try and run other applications whilst playing COD. If you do this, it's bad because it will basically limit the resources that your system needs for COD, making it highly ineffective. You should make sure that you don't have any background programs running on your system before trying to play the game.

The second step to fix the game's slow speeds is to lower all the game's options inside your PC. The problem most people have is that they will crank up all the game options to the highest levels in an attempt to get the most out of their system... but this will just cause most PC's to run slower as they will take longer to load up all the settings they require. You should click into the options menu and lower all the graphics settings to their minimum.

Finally, you should also clean out your PC's registry to fix any of the problems that your computer may have inside. The registry is a central database which stores all the settings, options and files that your system will require to run - allowing your PC to recall everything from your desktop wallpaper to your latest emails. Although the registry is a highly important setting for your system, it's continually causing a large number of problems thanks to the way in which your computer will run much slower & with errors - preventing it from being able to run smoothly. To fiix this, you should download a registry cleaner program from the Internet, and then let it fix any of the problems you may have on your PC.

Make Your Character Come to Life With Character Animation

,
HOW TO MAKE 3D GRAPHICS :

Creating your own cartoon character is a fun and exciting activity. Do you remember the time when you were a kid, when you just loved to draw cartoon characters along with the squiggles? There is no rule that you have to stop this hobby if you are still into it as you grow into an adult. If you want to engage in character animation, there are a few factors to consider. First, think of the word character. What do you want your cartoon to be all about? Imagining what your hero or heroine's character will be can help you get an initial idea and determine how your cartoon will look like. Start with the basic geometric shapes. Circles, squares and triangles are a good way to start your drawing. Then put in the details as you go along. Remember to include in your study drawings the different facial expressions of your character, like what it will look like when angry, happy or sad. Draw about five to seven initial drafts of your characters before going on to the next step.

Once you're done with your cartoon and you are satisfied with the initial sketches, then the next step is to write the script, which is the challenging part. It is important to have a script if your character animation will involve several cartoon characters and voice actors. The longer your animation feature is, the better your script will develop. It will help you in creating a solid storyboard, which is a small series of pictures and drawings of your complete animation. It will contain the highlights and important scenes of your plot. Your scenes do not have to be detailed, the basic sketches and rough drawings will do because the storyboard will just serve as your guide. You can even draw stick figures and simple geometric shapes for the background. With this, you don't have to necessarily record your audios in order.

There are several free or paid recording software available both for the Mac and PC platform. But since this is your first character animation, just go for the free or trial ones. You will also need a good quality microphone. A mic that can filter out background noise is a good choice but can be costly. Time your voice according to your animation. Or time your animation according to your voice. But it should be stressed that you should time everything. Otherwise, your animation will look like a dubbed foreign cartoon where the lips don' match the words!

Study animation various software and stick to the one that you feel most comfortable working on before looking for more advanced software. Of course you also have to consider the effects you are going to us like the background noise, music and the sound effects. Again, because you have a storyboard, you don't have to do the animation in sequence. You can go through the scenes and just arrange them when you're done. As easy as that, you can distribute copies of your animation feature. Remember to ask for feedback so that you can improve on your next project. Who knows, maybe one day you will be able to join the rank of the elite in the field of being a character animator?

Windows 7 Slow - How to Speed Up Windows 7 Quickly and Easily

,
HOW TO MAKE 3D GRAPHICS :

Is your Windows 7 slow? Wondering how to speed up Windows 7 without breaking the bank? Well I may be able to help you. But first off you need to make sure you are meeting the minimum hardware requirements to run Windows 7 on your system. Here they are:

o 1GHz processor (32- or 64-bit)
o 1GB of main memory
o 16GB of available disk space
o Support for DX9 graphics with 128MB of memory (for the Aero interface)
o A DVD-R/W drive

Keep in mind however, that if you were able to effectively run Windows XP or Vista, there should be little reason that you cannot also run Windows 7. The new Windows OS is designed to be very light and run quickly without requiring huge amounts of RAM or GHz's. Most folks having problems are the ones trying to jump from Windows 2000 to Windows 7.

If you meet or come close to these requirements and Windows 7 is still slow, then the issue lies somewhere else. For starters, cut down on the amount of programs running in the background. You can use MsConfig to do this or simple install software that will identify programs secretly running in the background and eating up loads of virtual memory.

The second option is to clean the Windows registry. This is perhaps the most effective means to speed up Windows 7. There is no internal cleaning tool to clear out errors and corrupt files from the registry. This contributes to significant congestion which will slow down Windows 7 significantly.

While these tweaks can be complicated to perform alone, you can scan your system with software which will fix these problems automatically. It will only take a couple minutes and you should notice a faster Windows 7 right away. Don't worry about compatibility issues, if the program can run on Vista it can run on Windows 7.

How to Fix XP Error Code 45 - A Trick to Repair XP Error Code 45 in Seconds

,
HOW TO MAKE 3D GRAPHICS :

Windows XP error code 45 is an error which often appears randomly on the typical Windows XP system. It's caused by a problem with the drivers & hardware of your PC being unable to run coherently with your computer's setup, making it essential that you're able to repair any problem which may be causing error code 45 to show.

Error code 45 will typically show in this format:

  • Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer. (Code 45)

The error basically means that the hardware your PC requires to use (such as a webcam, graphics tablet or projector) is no longer attached to the system. This issue can be caused by two problems - the first being that the hardware is not actually attached to your PC any more, and the second being that Windows doesn't recognize the hardware being present on your system. If the latter is true, then it's essential you're able to fix the problems on your system which are preventing Windows from being able to access the various pieces of hardware which it requires. Here's how...

The first step to repairing this error is to first ensure the hardware of your system is actually connected to your PC. It can often be the case that the various pieces of hardware will either have a damaged power supply / cable, which causes them to flicker between being on and off. You need to make sure your hardware is actually connected, as if it is not, then your PC will just show error 45 as it cannot process it.

The second step to fix this problem is to look at what drivers & settings your system has to control the hardware on the system. Each piece of hardware on your PC is controlled by a series of "drivers" and other software tools which are designed to help Windows communicate with the various hardware components of your system. As you may imagine, many of these software "bridges" often become damaged, corrupted or unreadable - leading Windows to be unable to read the hardware components it requires. If you want to make the 45 error disappear, then it's essential that you're able to repair any damaged drivers, and fix the problems that are inside your PC.

One of the best ways to repair the 45 error code is to use a registry cleaner program. These are software tools which basically scan through a part of your PC called the "registry", and fix any of the damaged or corrupted settings which are often accumulated inside. The registry is a database which stores all the settings that Windows requires to run, and is a very important part of your system. If you are having problems with your system, the registry is actually one of the most likely causes - which means that by fixing the damaged settings inside it, you should allow your system to run much smoother and reliably.

How Are Video Games Made - The Process From Start to Finish

,
HOW TO MAKE 3D GRAPHICS :

It's time to answer that oh-so important question that's been burning in the back of your mind: "how are video games made?" Here is a very basic run down of how video games are made.

1. Core Team

A group of people whom come up with the general concept of the game. Numerous meetings will occur in which the group brainstorms about the game; figuring out not only how it will look, but also how it will work. The core team is in charge of the production schedule as well, which describes the tasks each person is assigned and when they most do them.

2. Game Breakdown

Every detail, task, job, and deadline about the video game is broken down into components and then added to a bulletin board. This board acts as the nerve center throughout the games production.

3. Artistic Concept

Artists sketch out the games characters & backgrounds with a very basic level of detail. These sketches are what the graphics artists use to create the characters and backgrounds in 3D on the computer.

4. Development Team

This team uses the latest in computer animation technology to bring life to all of the game's elements; adding colors, textures, shading, and even movement. This team uses the 3d characters and backgrounds created by the graphics team.

5. Programming & Engineering

This is the bread & butter of the game development stage; because without this part, there would be no game. Suffice it to say, the programmers & engineers make the game work. Their coding is what holds the game together and allows the player to actually play the game.

6. Testing

This is the final and most crucial part of the development process. This phase is to see if everything is working properly and as it should be. Testers will check for bugs and glitches and try to find potential problems.

The game testers won't merely be playing the game and seeing if problems will find them -- it's the other way around, as THEY will be the ones searching for the problems. The testers will do everything and anything possible in the game to ensure there is no abnormal situations or circumstances; walking through walls, disappearing, enemy AI problems, cinematic errors, you name it. If the testers miss ANYTHING, it could mean disastrous consequences -- in the form of profit loss -- for the company releasing the game.

Printers - A Practical Buyers Guide

,
HOW TO MAKE 3D GRAPHICS :

Buying a printer can be a complicated business, there are more shapes, sizes and types of printers available to the home and small business user than ever before. Printers have also become specialised for their intended purpose.

It is no longer a case of "a printer is a printer". Printers are now designed to be good in a particular area rather than a "Jack-of-all trades", which will do everything.

An often overlooked issue, is the very serious consideration of cost of ownership, which is all about of how much it will cost to keep your printer running (see below). So making that decision on which printer to go for can be a seriously arduous task, especially if you are keen to buy a printer that is not only affordable to buy but also cheap to run.

So here is the information that you need to know and consider, but no one tells you! We have not expanded on which printer is the best at any given time because models constantly change and you can find that information in any current glossy PC magazine off the shelf. Instead, here you will find the good, bad and ugly bits from the different types of printers available so you can make an informed decision yourself.

Inkjet Technology

Inkjet printers form images by spraying tiny droplets of liquid ink onto paper. The size and precision of the dots of ink and the type and quality of the ink itself govern how good the print quality is. A quality inkjet printer can produce very near photo-quality images using specialist photo coated paper. In general there are two types of inkjet printers, those with the printhead built into the printer like Epson, Brother etc and those where the printhead is actually on the ink cartridge like HP and Lexmark. There are many arguments for and against both technologies, but in our experience we have found both to be very good, the major difference seems to be that the cost of running a printer using the "printhead" type ink cartridge is usually higher.

Inkjet ink is specially formulated for specific printer models and their purpose, much technology is involved in the development of these inks to improve print quality, longevity, drying speeds and printing speeds etc. Most inkjet ink is produced using dye based ink which can flow easily through the tiny nozzles of the printhead, this type of ink is good for photos and colour shades but not so good for longevity or solid vibrant colour, think of it like a water colour painting. In recent years pigment ink technology has advanced considerably to enable use in inkjet printing. Previously ink pigments were too large and would block up the nozzles. This type of ink is good for solid colours and longevity, think of it like an oil painting.

Manufacturers like Epson, HP and Jet Tec are now increasingly using a fusion of dye based and pigmented inks to create superb quality photo printing with vibrant colours and longevity too.

Inkjet printers use anything between two and eight ink cartridges to do their job. Generally speaking the entry-level machines use two cartridges, good all round machines use four and specialist photo printers use six or more. The two cartridge system works fine though can be a bit wasteful on the colour ink, so go for a four-cartridge system where possible especially if you do colour printing. The six or more cartridge systems produce outstanding photos, but can be costly and a pain to keep changing cartridges (printer does not work if any one cartridge is empty).

Inkjet printers are the best solution for most people and are usually the most cost effective way to print - unless you are printing large volumes.

Portable Inkjet Printers
These printers are small, lightweight and ideal for people on the move. Although the printing of high quality photographs is usually beyond this type of printer, basic colour printing is of good quality and the quality of text print is mostly outstanding considering the size of these tiny portable A4 printers. These printers are not suitable for high volume printing.

Inkjet Printers

The Inkjet Printer is the most commonly used type of printer among home and small business users. With excellent all round printing capabilities, from black & white text print and good colour prints through to very hi-resolution, high quality photographs using Inkjet Photo Printers. Inkjet printers are available from cheap entry level to high-end business use machines and can print from photo size prints to massive A2 and bigger sizes, there are models for occasional use and others for high volume print jobs too. One of the many great things about Inkjet printers is that you can use a wide variety of media to print on, including standard paper, photo paper, card, t-shirt transfers, canvas, projector film etc, achieving different looks and textures for your prints and print for different purposes. Most Inkjet printers are USB connections and not suitable for networks, although models are also available for networks and with parallel connections.

Multi-Function Inkjet Printers

Multi-Function Inkjet Printers have been built to meet the needs of home offices and small businesses. These excellent value machines provide multiple solutions in one compact and easy to use machine i.e. printing, scanning, copying and some also have built in fax machines too. Not only are these machines great for saving space on your desk, but they are also very good for printing too using the same technology as standard inkjet printers. The only thing you should be aware of is that you can only use one function at a time and if anything goes wrong with an "All-in-one" machine, you may lose the all the functions at once!

Laser Printers

Laser printers work in a similar way to photocopiers, except they use a laser instead of a bright light to scan with. They work by creating an electrostatic image of the page onto a charged photoreceptor, which in turn attracts toner in the shape of an electrostatic charge. Toner is the material used to make the image (as ink is in an inkjet printer) and is a very fine powder, so laser printers use toner cartridges instead of ink cartridges.

Laser Printers have traditionally been the best printing solution for heavy office users as they produce a very high quality black text finish and offer relatively low running costs. However, laser printers have advanced a great deal recently and their prices have steadily dropped, as a result there are now compact laser printers, multi-function and colour laser printers all at very affordable prices. Laser printers make sense if you need to do a lot of high quality black or colour prints, not photos. The great thing about a colour laser printer is that they can print a very good quality colour image on standard copier paper, so you do not need to use expensive photo paper for large jobs. Do check the prices of the consumables before you buy the printer as these can be very expensive for colour laser printers.

Laser printers are the best solution for people who are printing in large volumes, that is, in 100's of pages at a time or 1000's of pages per month. Colour lasers also take quite a while to warm up, so are not ideal for printing single pages.

Solid Ink Printers

Solid ink printers use solid wax ink sticks in a "phase-change" process, they work by liquefying wax ink sticks into reservoirs and then squirting the ink onto a transfer drum from where it is cold-fused onto the paper in a single pass. Solid ink printers are marketed almost exclusively by Tektronix / Xerox and are aimed at larger businesses and high volume colour printing.

Solid ink printers used to be cheaper to purchase than similarly specified colour lasers and fairly economical to run owing to a low component usage, today it is not necessarily any cheaper than a colour laser printer. Output quality is good but generally not as good as the best colour lasers for text and graphics or the best inkjets for photographs. Print speeds are not as fast as most colour lasers.

Dye-Sublimation Printers

Dye-Sublimation printers use heat and solid colour dyes to produce lab-quality photographic images. Dye-Sub printers contain a roll of transparent film made up of page-sized panels of colour, with cyan, magenta, yellow, and black dye embedded in the film. Print head heating elements vaporize the inks, which adhere to a specially coated paper, as the ink cools it re-solidifies on the paper. Colour intensity is controlled by precise variations in temperature.

Dye-sublimation printers lay down color in continuous tones one color at a time instead of dots of ink like an inkjet, because the colour is absorbed into the paper rather than sitting on the surface, the output is more photo-realistic, more durable and less vulnerable to fading than other ink technologies.

The downside of Dye-Sub printers is that they are generally more expensive to buy and run, usually limited to photo sized prints only and can only print onto one type of specialised paper as well as being quite slow to print.

Dye-Sublimation printers are best for those who want to link up their digital camera to a purpose built printer and print out the finest quality photos at home without fuss.

Dot Matrix Printers

Dot matrix printers are relatively old fashioned technology today with poor quality print, slow and very noisy output. This type of printer is no longer used unless you wish to create invoices using the continuous paper with holes on both sides. The good thing is that they are very cheap to run!

Cost of Ownership

Many printers today are very cheap to buy, but people are sometimes shocked to discover the cost of replacing the consumables (ink or laser cartridges, imaging drums, fuser, oils, specialist papers etc). The cost of replacing the ink can sometimes cost more than the printer itself! This is one of the most commonly overlooked factors when printers are reviewed and yet one of the most important things to consider before handing over your hard earned cash. Tests run in 2003 by Which? magazine famously compared the cost of HP's ink with vintage 1985 Dom Perignon.

A Sheffield City Council report aimed at helping schools decide on the best-value printers to buy, calculated total cost of ownership over the lifetime of a printer (not sure how long that is!). Adding up all the running costs, ink or toner, paper, maintenance and even electricity, SCC worked out that a colour inkjet costs approx 38p per page to run compared to a colour laser which costs approx 7p per page. Sheffield City Council advised its schools that if they printed more than three colour pages a day (assuming a 40-week academic year) they should buy a laser.

These figures cannot be taken hard and fast due to the many variables involved, but it is generally accepted that the cost per print of a laser printer is cheaper than that of an inkjet, which is in turn cheaper than that of a sub-dye printer. However, you would have to do a fair amount of colour printing to take advantage of the economy offered by a laser printer.

Summary

When buying a printer, firstly carefully consider its use, is it mostly general printing or for photographs, is it for occasional use or high volumes, will it be a stand alone device or connected to a network? Then using the guideline information above you will be able to decide on which type of printer is most suitable for you at the time.

Web Conferencing: A Boon to Businesss

,
HOW TO MAKE 3D GRAPHICS :

It is Sunday evening and you are preparing again to go on a business trip. Monday morning the alarm goes off at 4:00 am, you drag your body and your briefcase to your car, drive to the airport, wait in a long line, get on a plane, get off a plane, and find your way to your client's office. When you finally get home Monday night, you have spent more time traveling than meeting and you have dozens of emails and several important phone calls to return.

According to leading web conferencing service providers, the typical sales cycle can be cut two to three weeks with web conferencing. Providing a virtual conference room environment, web conferencing eliminates the need to travel, linking geographically disperse workgroups and telecommuters. The return on investment for web conferencing can be measured not only in dollars and cents, but also in personnel efficiency, knowledge distribution and increased sales opportunities.

The ability to virtually link workgroups and project teams enables real-time collaboration, a task that once required lengthy email threads or face-to-face meetings.

Web conferencing enables businesses to:

  • Reduce operating costs
  • Minimize unnecessary travel
  • Close sales and negotiate contracts faster
  • Enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of communication
  • Deliver clear, concise and consistent training
  • Encourage real-time collaboration between distant and local co-workers
  • Engage in greater levels of communication with clients and business partners

Since its inception, web conferencing usage has expanded to a number of business applications such as daily sales and marketing efforts, interaction with co-workers and customers, corporate presentations and training initiatives. Financial corporations use web conferencing for internal meetings, customer briefings, employee training, client consultations and investment workshops. Healthcare and pharmaceutical companies use Web conferencing for product promotion and marketing, sales presentations and demonstrations, and product training and development. Educational institutions use web conferencing for project teams and student workshops. And, government agencies rely on web conferencing for training and inter-agency communication.

Most organizations use outsourced web conferencing. Why? Because of the quickly changing technology, businesses opt not to invest in what could soon be obsolete. In addition, on a day-to-day basis, it is more cost effective to have web conferencing outsourced. Additional reasons include:

  • Leading edge functionality provides greater levels of security, moderator control, and participant options.
  • Your people can now focus on your core business, not support systems.
  • The external company makes the investment in new features so that your fixed costs are reduced and your overall expenditures are lowered.
  • With no capital expense, new technology can be implemented with minimal impact to the bottom line.

When beginning the search for a web conferencing solution, start with setting your objectives and determining the features you require. Here are a few basic questions that should be answered:

  • How many participants do you anticipate attending your online meetings or events?
  • Will the number of participants remain consistent from meeting to meeting or will the number change?
  • How many meetings will be conducted each week, month, quarter? Will usage fluctuate depending on the time of the year?
  • What type of content will be presented (Power Point slides, software applications, web-based applications, documents, or spreadsheets)?
  • What degree of interactivity do you require (Q&A, polling/voting, application sharing, text chatting, live video, file sharing, etc.)?
  • Do you want your own software or a hosted solution?
  • How much technical support or event management support do you require?
  • What is your monthly budget?
  • Are there any special security requirements?

Once you have determined your requirements, screen a number of vendors. Visit their web site, review live demos, and seek client testimonials. Here are few suggestions for choosing a vendor:

Select a pricing model. Determine whether you want to pay-per-use (you pay only for the time you and your attendees spend in web conferences) or pay-per-seat (you pay a flat monthly fee for a certain number of "seats"). Pay-per-use pricing is the better conservative choice for most companies learning to how to use web conferencing for their business. You avoid set up charges and you don't have to monitor the number of concurrent users in order to avoid overage charges. You can always start with a pay-per-use plan and switch to a pay-per-seat plan once there is a clear, long-term financial advantage.

Get the features you need. Some web conferencing solutions only support online presentations while others offer full-featured packages that include polling, chatting, application-sharing, white boarding and group web surfing. Make sure that the product meets your needs.

Check into customer support levels. Is training and ongoing support available? What hours? Is there an extra fee? Is there a telephone number available so that you can contact a support person or is only email support offered? What are their support hours? Call each vendor's customer service number and see if you get a live person vs. a menu or voice mail. You don't want to be in a situation where an attendee has technical problems joining a critical meeting and not be able to contact a live person immediately.

Consider security requirements. Depending on the audience and the information being sharing, security may be a concern. Most solutions are secure enough and do not store meeting data any place except on the presenter's PC. Participants only see a graphical representation of the data through a standard web browser. Some services provide pass code authorization, basic encryption, and the ability to lock and unlock the meeting.

So, the next time Sunday night comes around and you are faced with another week of travel, email trails, difficulty in scheduling training and long lead times in closing sales and negotiating contracts, do yourself a favor and look into web conferencing for your business.

What's the Difference Between 2D and 3D Anyway?

,
HOW TO MAKE 3D GRAPHICS :

Isn't it obvious? Well, apparently not quite, when you consider how many people are still struggling with this topic!

The first concept you must grasp is that 3D means 3 dimensional and 2D means 2 dimensional. Now before you think I'm stating the obvious, let me go on to say that the 3D and 2D in animation refer to the dimension in which the animation was created. Ahhhh. The plot thickens eh?

For 2D animation, everything happens on a 2 dimensional platform. Pictures are flat, without depth and offer only one perspective. Objects and characters are usually drawn without the subtle soft shadows we see in real life and colours have few varying shades. In 3D animation, everything happens on a 3 dimensional platform. Pictures have depth and offer multiple perspectives just like in real life and have soft subtle shadows casted on the objects and characters within.

In 2D, characters look cartoonish and unrealisitc. In 3D, characters can look cartoonish but realistic at the same time.

Another way to think of this is to think in terms of a painting and a sculpture. 2D is a painting, and 3D is a sculpture. 3D introduces "depth perspective," so we not only see a rectangle (2D) but a CUBE (3D). You may also want to think of it like being the difference between a photograph of a glass of water (2D) and being able to reach out and actually pick up the glass of water (3D).

Typically, 2D involves "drawing," or movement on, say, a flat surface (sketch pad, etc.) or in the vertical and horizontal planes. 3D involves "modeling," i.e., creating objects in 3-dimensions using a computer software, residing in an expansive virtual environment, complete with lights, reflections, other objects, shadows, etc.

You could start training yourself by comparing a cartoon like Bugs Bunny, Aladdin, Lion King (2D) to "Toy Story 1,2 & 3, "Finding Nemo" and "Incredibles" (3D). If you have not watched any of these great cartoons, you should grab one right away or be branded a neantherdal forever!

Should a Virtual Assistant Recommend a Freelance Site?

,
HOW TO MAKE 3D GRAPHICS :

There are two main reasons I would recommend a freelance site to my clients. Before I get into that though, let me talk a little bit about what a freelance site is and what some of the better ones out there are.

According to Wikipedia, "a freelancer is a self-employed person like an independent contractor who follows after a profession without establishing a long-term commitment to any one employer." Now you might say, what the heck does that mean. In simple terms, it means that a virtual assistant (or writer, or graphic designer, etc.) goes into business for him- or herself.

There are many areas in which a person can set themselves up in business as a freelancer -- areas like website development and programming, administrative services, writing and translation, sales and marketing, and multiple other categories. Within each of these categories, there might be specific niches that you can establish your business in, depending on your skills and determination.

Okay, so that's all well and good, right? How does a freelancer find a buyer, or how does a buyer find a service provider? If a person does a search through their favorite Internet search engine under the term "freelance marketplace," one will find a wide variety of freelance marketplaces out there where freelancers and buyers can meet, get to know each other, and work together. There are several good ones out there like Guru, Elance, iFreelance, and more, depending on what you are specializing in.

Let's take a look at these three briefly.

* Elance

Elance has been around since 1998 when it was founded. Privately held and headquartered in Mountain View, California, this company had a vision that has allowed it to become the most widely used application for Services and Contractor Management.

According to their website, more than 200,000 employees are using Elance in all facets of finding, buying, managing and paying external services and contractors from more than 2,000 suppliers across 50+ services categories.

While Elance has a high minimum bid requirement of for providers, as well as multiple fees, the overall quality of the projects is much better. You, as a buyer, get people that overall want to please. As a service provider, you have an opportunity to enhance your reputation and build long-standing relationships with multiple employers.

* Guru

Guru provides businesses with the capability of finding virtual outsource help they need from a variety of talented freelancers worldwide. Guru is very similar to Elance in that it caters to both businesses and service providers. Guru makes its money through the service providers through fees. Using the Guru SafePay system, employers are guaranteed 100% satisfaction with their project results.

While Guru's guiding principle is "to provide businesses with the most efficient platform to connect and perform transactions with freelance professionals locally, nationally, and globally," Guru's standards are very low, both in the quality of projects, as well as ensuring fair and equal practices between buyer and provider.

From my experience as a buyer, (I am also a provider) it is extremely common to hire people that promise "I can do it" and have them disappear off the face of the earth. Also, you can only provide feedback to those providers that sent you an invoice. If they up and quit, you have no recourse to forewarn other buyers of that provider's shortcomings.

* iFreelance

iFreelance is an easy and effective method for businesses to connect with talented freelance professionals globally. By outsourcing through iFreelance, businesses can potentially have their projects completed in about half the time at minimal cost.

iFreelance has options for both buyers and providers, just like Elance and Guru. For buyers, it's a simple matter to post a project or search for a potential provider. There is no fee for buyers; the only cost to buyers are for the pay you give out to the providers that work for you.

In reviewing their site, it appears that most of the projects are not current other than in the Writing-Editing-Translation category.

So let's go back to my original premise as to why a virtual assistant should recommend a freelance site to one of their clients. In my case, there are two categories that I would want to do this:

1. There are clients of mine that may have a service that is not currently in my repertoire of skills. For example, I offer virtual assistance services - things like data entry, customer service, transcription, article writing, article submission, things of that nature. I don't do graphics, I don't do photography or videography, I don't do anything having to do with legal matters -- you get the picture, right? In other words, if one of my clients needs me to come up with a logo, for example, I'm going to recommend that they go to a freelance site where they can go to find a service provider that does that type of thing.

2. There are new prospective virtual assistants out there that need to acquire clientele and may want to test the waters to see if becoming a freelancer is going to appeal to their sense of adventure and be a good fit. When my partner and I first started out, we were compelled to go into freelancing because I had been laid off and she had retired. We needed a way to supplement our income. Not everyone is going to take to freelancing. Becoming a member of a freelance site can be an excellent way to be introduced to it, build skills, and gain feedback.

With the economy being what it is right now and so many people being out of work, a virtual assistant has to do everything they can to keep the clients they have. This is a good time to recommend freelance marketplaces to clients and individuals that want to get into freelancing. That is why I think it only makes sense that a virtual assistant not only can but should recommend freelance sites to anyone that listens -- but especially to clients looking for something to be done that I can't do or to new people wanting to get into the field of freelancing.
